It's all about data, bits, and bytes! So we all headed off to Mauritius for Lyndsay and James's wedding. It was so fabulous. There were a lot of photo's taken I can tell you! So anyway here's some video footage we captured while over there. And as always there will be a lot of photos in the pic's section!
Mauritius memories by DZyneLab.com !!!
Summertime???
Oh the depression of it all, the Summer has deserted us. Some would say that it never actually graced us with its presence ;o). Anyway We did manage to get a nice holiday so mustn't grumble and all that.
Because we did manage to sit on the beach every day, sipping on Mochitos (or however you spell it), and watching the day go by. It was truely awesome. There was a lot of water sports, and for the fair Lukasz a lot of Sun tanning, this is where we went to every day.... oh the memories!
But those sunny days are now a distant memory and the joy of Winter Snow has arrived
So myself, the fair Lukasz, Monica, Vernon, and Sineaid all headed off to snowy France for a bit of slip sliding. Now I had heard a lot of good reports about the skiing in France so had to give it a try, and believe me IT DELIVERED. OK so it was horrendously expensive, £220 for a weeks lift pass. Ski hire was not that far behind that for Lukasz. A beer on the mountain cost about £7... but hey hoo, if you want the best you got to pay for it sweetie. The piste was unbelievable. We ended up in Tignes which is the next resort to Val D'Isere. We skiid all over the Espace Keilly. I was astonished by the grooming of the slopes, fast chairlifts, feneculare railways through the mountains, and almost NO Queues!!! That was the clincher for us all, you can't beat getting on a chair/lift when you want to.
Anyway we took loads of great pic's which can be viewed here and in the photo section. Really a great resort.
During a moment of madness everyone meets up and crack a smile for the camera......
There's nothing better than a clear blue sky to put things into perspective!
There were stunning views around every bend in Tignes. This is a view of the Lake we happened upon while making our way towards Tignes Les Bosses which is the old villiage at the bottom of the ski area.
Anyway we never made it to the end as we had to make it back for a pressing engagement. However I look forward to going back there next year to discover the beauty of this side of the resort. I'm sure there is lots more that we did not discover. However after consulting the ski map I did notice that there were a lot of blacks on this side, and I'm not up to that just yet.
OK so the prices were pretty shocking so we did not go out too many times. But here's a shotof us outside the hotel when we did venture out into the town one night!
Note the happy faces, and the I just paid £17 for burger and chips glazed expression... haha I'm only kidding it was not that bad (",).
Let the party go on all night long!
Not that the lack of getting out of the apartment stopped us from having a good time!!!
We spent most nights drinking copious amounts of alcohol [thank gawd for duty free] playing dice.... would you look at us, we are sooo mad !!!!!
It was however a good laugh and sometimes you need an early night so you can make it to the first lift of the day, so you can make it across the resort... it's ALL about the skiing sweetie, and don't you forget it. If I wanted to go clubbing and pay £7 a drink I'd book myself onto one of them Ibiza holidays innit!
So we also had Monica with us, skiing for the first time with our group. She was such a star. Everyday she was up early, out on the slopes, ok ok so there may have been a couple of falls on the first day... but that was in the middle of a total blizzard. However every day at the end of the afternoon when Lukasz wanted to stop, she would hook up with msyelf and Vernon and whatever we threw at her, she took it! No, not snowballs you idiots...
Anyway we had a really nice time and I would recommend it to anyone who has ever considered trying it out. You can see more pic's on the photo section of the web site.
Beauty and the Beast??
I'm not making any comment on which is which :).
